
A very brief glossary of terms...if you're interested at all !
HTML, which stands for HyperText Markup Language, is the predominant markup language for web pages. It is written in the form of HTML elements consisting of "tags" surrounded by angle brackets within the web page content.
CSS is designed primarily to enable the separation of document content (written in HTML or a similar markup language) from document presentation, including elements such as the layout, colors, and fonts.
PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor is a widely used, general-purpose scripting language that was originally designed for web development to produce dynamic web pages.
JavaScript is primarily used in the form of client-side JavaScript, implemented as part of a web browser in order to provide enhanced user interfaces and dynamic websites.
Adobe Flash (formerly Macromedia Flash) is a multimedia platform used to add animation, video, and interactivity to Web pages. It can also be used to develop websites in full to very creative effect. Flash is not currently viewable on Apple's iphones & ipads.
jQuery is free, open source software, where developers are able to create abstractions for low-level interaction and animation, advanced effects and high-level, theme-able widgets, contributing to the creation of powerful and dynamic web pages.
